ANNO DOMINI 1323 AGREEMENT

The 700th anniversary of the first commemoration of Aukštaitija was commemorated and the original of the first Lithuanian interstate peace and trade treaty with Livonia was presented to the public of Aukštaitija, and the first concept of the celebration of Aukštaitija’s first commemoration was created together with 18 other museums of other municipalities of the region: the original of the first Lithuanian interstate treaty was brought to Lithuania and exhibited, an exhibition of coats of arms, a festival of singing of the traditional songs, and a meeting with historians were held.

LIGHT OF THE STAR OF DAVID – (UN)FORGOTTEN

The building of the former Kurkliai Synagogue is restored, and a historical exposition is set up, featuring an exhibition of works by the Lithuanian artist of Jewish origin, Neemija Arbit Blat (1908-1999), from the Lithuanian National Museum of Art. Workshops for children and young people aged 11-18 with professional animators Valentas Aškinis and Jūratė Leikaitė-Aškinienė were organised, during which a short animated film about the life and customs of the Jews of Anykščiai region was created. A seminar on “The Seven Great Secrets of Jewish Success” by writer, journalist and communication specialist Giedrius Drukteinis.
