From August 14, in the Chapel of Anykščiai (Vilniaus St. 36), an exhibition by sculptor prof. Romualdas Inčirauskas “From Abraham to Čiurlionis” is on display, where the author presents his latest works.
Two different but related forms of artistic expression are transformed into sculptural form in Romualdas Inčirauskas’ work. These are the Bible stories that dominate the themes of Rembrandt’s paintings and the symbolism, so characteristic of religious iconography, found in Čiurlionis’ works. R. Inčirauskas interprets biblical figures in his own way, creating a personal and original vision of them.
The exhibition is dominated by heroes of the Bible: Abraham’s sons Isaac and Ishmael, the wise Solomon, the warrior David, and the Three Kings. Alongside them appear symbols dedicated to the memory of our epoch’s artist, Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis.
The exhibition is complemented by Romualdas’ witty three-line poems, full of paradox.
The exhibition opening will take place on August 28 at 5:30 p.m.
The exhibition will be open until September 14.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Born on August 28, 1950, in Anykščiai. In 1974, he graduated from the Telšiai School of Applied Arts. In 1979, he graduated from the State Art Institute of Estonia in Tallinn. Professor at the Vilnius Academy of Arts, Telšiai Faculty. Member of the Lithuanian Artists’ Association (LDS), member of FIDEM. Lives in Telšiai. Creates sculptures, medals, and paintings.
Since 1979, he has organized more than sixty solo exhibitions and participated in many group exhibitions, symposiums, plein airs, and competitions. His works have been acquired by museums in Lithuania and abroad: the British Museum in London, the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts in Moscow, the Nelli Markka Museum in Alajärvi, Finland, the Lithuanian National Museum of Art, the M. K. Čiurlionis National Museum of Art in Kaunas, the Vilna Gaon Jewish Museum, the Samogitian Art Museum in Plungė, the “Alka” Museum in Telšiai, etc. His works are also held in private collections around the world. His art has been recognized many times both in Lithuania and abroad. Recent awards: 2023 – American Numismatic Association. Numismatic Art Award for Excellence in Medallic Sculpture. 2022 – Judaica Art Medal Award, FIDEM, Tokyo, Japan. Medal “Shijune Sugihara”.
