We warmly invite you to the second concert of the 13th “Music Weekends in Anykščiai” festival, dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis.
Taking the stage will be the exceptional piano duo “Duo Zubovas” — Sonata Zubovienė and Rokas Zubovas, the great-grandson of the renowned Lithuanian composer M. K. Čiurlionis.
The program, “The World of Čiurlionis”, unites all aspects of Čiurlionis’s creative expression: music, painting, and literature. Structured into thematic sections, it explores the spiritual dimensions central to his artistic vision — his deep love for Lithuania, its history, and its folk songs; a profound sensitivity to nature and its spiritualization; and an intense contemplation of the artist’s place and purpose in the universe.
Performed on solo piano and four hands, the program includes works from all creative periods of Čiurlionis. In addition to his piano compositions, both of his symphonic poems will be presented in transcription, mapping the expanse of his worldview from the Lithuanian forest to the cosmic sea.
Venue: Angel Museum – Centre of Sacred Art (Vilniaus St. 11, Anykščiai)
Date & Time: Friday, May 30, 6:00 PM
Ticket Price: 5 EUR
