The contemporary improvisational music trio Fleitų 3 invites you to a distinctive concert — a sonic experience where academic music, free improvisation, and subtle sonoric experiments meet. Three flutes will become a space for sound, silence, and emotion, ranging from contemplative, ambient textures to intense, expressive eruptions. The trio’s music is a continually evolving dialogue created in the moment, sensitively responsive to the acoustics of the space and the mood of the occasion.
The ensemble brings together flutists active on the contemporary and improvisational music scene: Mėta Gabrielė Pelegrimaitė-Kaupinė, Salomėja Kalvelytė, and Kristupas Gikas.
The concert will feature works from the forthcoming album Need for Flute, recorded at The Chapel – The Cultural Creation Center of Anykštėnai of the World — conceptual pieces developed during international tours in Latvia, Estonia, Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium that reveal the flute’s possibilities in unexpected guises. This album will differ significantly from the first release, Live from Improdimensija (2023), which was a live concert recording. Need for Flute is a conceptual,
fragmentary collection of pieces whose emergence marks a new phase in the ensemble’s artistic development.
