The exhibition features photographs by the renowned Odesa photographer and photojournalist Boris Buchman, telling the story of Odesa – a city that for many years lived to the rhythm of its culture, humour, the sea and everyday life, but was forced to find itself at the centre of war.
The works on display reveal not only the reality shaped by war, but also people’s dignity, resilience and ability to preserve their humanity in the most difficult circumstances. The photographs capture everyday life scarred by war – damaged spaces, lives permeated by anxiety, human emotions, loss, waiting, and the effort to hold on to hope in the face of constant threat.
