On 31 July, Tomas Tuskenis, Director of the Anykščiai Arts Center, attended the opening of “The Universe from a Spiral”, an exhibition by Colombian artist of Lithuanian descent Nijolė Šivickas de Mockus, at the Janina Monkutė-Marks Museum-Gallery in Kėdainiai.
The spiral – a symbol of life, memory and continuous transformation – becomes a bridge between continents, cultures and personal experiences in the artist’s work. Her art reveals a sensitive connection with nature, humanity and the world, where every form speaks of movement, growth and return.
We are delighted that this artistic journey continues in Lithuania, and that in 2027 audiences in Anykščiai will also have the opportunity to encounter the work of Nijolė Šivickas de Mockus. Follow our news for updates – a special introduction to the artist’s world awaits, where art becomes a universal language connecting different cultures and experiences.
