From November 18, 2025 to January 10, 2026, an exhibition of works by herb-graphics artist Laima Dzigaitė, „Pakviestiems į Tylą“ will be on view at the Angel Museum — Sacred Art Center (Vilniaus St. 11, Anykščiai).
With her work, herb-graphics artist Laima Dzigaitė invites viewers to look sensitively at the nature that surrounds us and to discover its beauty. Over a long period of artistic exploration she has tried many techniques — from printmaking, watercolor, and batik to carving. For nearly twenty years, however, she has used an unusual method that the artist V. Žukas has called “herb graphics”: she draws inspiration from nature and uses dried plants and herbs in her pieces.
The artist writes: “Herbs are both the tool of my practice and the source of my inspiration. They are like visible signs of the unseen Creator, revealing paradise on earth. With my paintings I want to speak about how important it is to love and marvel at the wonderful nature we have been given. I work only in winter, when life in nature fades — in my studio the herbs are reborn into a different kind of life.”
Laima Dzigaitė was born in 1954 in Ukmergė. In 1972 she moved to Kaunas, where she graduated from the A. Martinaitis Art School. She later worked at the S. Žukas Higher School of Art. She currently lives and works in Ukmergė. Since 1993 she has held more than 30 solo exhibitions in various locations across Lithuania and has shown her work abroad in Latvia, Poland, Germany, and France. The artist has designed numerous books. In 2007 Laima Dzigaitė was granted the status of a professional artist.
